Missouri River

Experience World-Class Tailwater Fishing

Every May in Missoula, we experience runoff from snowmelt, which pushes us over the pass to the Missouri River where flows are stable. We are fortunate to spend all of May and the first two weeks of June on arguably the best tailwater fishery in the nation.

Missouri River Rainbows

Spring (May to Mid-June):
After the Missouri River flows through Holter Dam, it boasts an impressive 6,000 trout per mile. From Holter Dam to Cascade, we enjoy 30 miles where the average fish measures 16-17 inches, with fish caught up to 23 inches. We employ an array of tactics on this river, catering to those seeking  numbers of fish or the chance to hook into a big brown.
